Statement issued in response to Bethany D'Erario's threat to sue Saint John Parish, Darien, and the Diocese of Bridgeport

Statement issued in response to Bethany D'Erario's threat to sue Saint John Parish, Darien, and the Diocese of Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Saturday, January 26, 2008, 7:00 a.m. - Daniel L. Schwartz, Employment Law Partner in the Stamford office of Day Pitney LLP, representing Saint John Roman Catholic Church in Darien and the Bridgeport Roman Catholic Diocesan Corporation, has issued the following statement regarding Bethany D'Erario's threat to sue:

"We have received a letter from Mrs. D'Erario's attorney threatening to sue Saint John Church and the Diocese of Bridgeport.

"It would be inappropriate to discuss the details at this time.

"We have reviewed Mrs. D'Erario's claims and determined that they have no merit.

"We note that Mrs. D'Erario voluntarily resigned from Saint John Parish in August 2006, approximately 18 months ago, and this is the first time that she has raised any claims regarding her resignation."
