The Catholic faithful in all 82 parishes of the Diocese of Bridgeport are invited to pray for a specific intention: the fruitfulness of the “Lenten Confession Campaign.”

The Lenten Confession Campaign is part of the diocesan Pastoral Plan for Evangelization. The campaign’s theme is taken from Saint Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians: “Be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20).

O Father of infinite mercy and compassion,
like the shepherd who searches
for the lost sheep,
and the woman who looks for the lost coin,
You always seek us out when we sin that, through the grace of the Holy Spirit,
we might be reconciled to You.

In the Holy Season of Lent,
draw Your people to the
Sacrament of Reconciliation
to experience the transforming joy
of Your Divine Mercy.
Let us know the power of
Your unconditional love
and the security of Your providential care.

Bless confessors so that they may be
your instruments in leading us
to true conversion of heart
and holiness of life.

Grant this through Christ Our Lord.

Oh Padre de infinita misericordia y compasión,
como el pastor que busca a la oveja perdida
y como la mujer que busca la moneda perdida,
Tú siempre sales a nuestro encuentro cuando pecamos,
para que a través de la gracia del Espíritu Santo, nos puedas reconciliar a Ti.

En la Cuaresma, tiempo de gracia,
acerca a tu pueblo al Sacramento de la Reconciliación
para que experimenten la alegría transformadora de tu Divina Misericordia.
Permítenos conocer la fuerza de tu amor incondicional y la seguridad de tus
providenciales cuidados.

Bendice a los confesores para que ellos puedan ser instrumentos tuyos
al guiarnos hacia una conversión sincera de corazón
y a responder al llamado a la santidad.
