Students stand in solidarity with children fighting cancer
April 30, 2012

FAIRFIELD—On April 23, thirty-seven St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School students and one faculty member stood in solidarity with children fighting their courageous battle against cancer by having their heads shaved to support St. Baldrick's. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. St. Thomas Aquinas students were able to raise over $15,000 dollars. As the entire student body looked on, the participants' heads were shaved, with the school principal, Patricia Brady, leading the chant “Shave that Head”! What an amazing event and life lesson for the children of St. Thomas Aquinas to learn -- no matter how young you are, you can make a difference and they did just that!
