China Delegation

Dr. Margaret A. Dames, Superintendent of Schools, is leading a delegation from the Diocese of Bridgeport on a trip to Beijing, China from February 18-25th.  The group was invited by the Beijing International Education Exchange (BIEE) for the promotion of Sino-American education exchanges between educators of the two countries. The aim of the visit is to enhance the international promotion of the Chinese language and Chinese culture and to mutually seek an understanding, enrichment and exchange of cultural ideas for the learning of each others’ language and customs.  Besides Dr. Dames, the delegation includes:  Mr. John Cook, Deputy Superintendent, Mrs. Kathleen Casey, President of Immaculate High School, Dr. William Fitzgerald, President of St. Joseph High School, Mrs. Mary Maloney, Principal of St. Rose of Lima School, Sr. Mary John O’Rourke, Principal of St. Gregory the Great School, Mrs. Diane Tung, Director of Instructional Technology, and Professor Thomas Dames of Mount St. Mary College.
