FAIRFIELD—The pre-K 3 class at Assumption Catholic School in Fairfield collected 1,100 cans of soup for Homes for the Brave.  The community service project began in October and concluded with the Super Bowl.  The students were allowed to wear jeans on Fridays, instead of their uniforms, if they brought in a can of soup to benefit the project.  This is the sixth year that the class, under the supervision of teacher Mary Riehl, collected the soup. Homes for the Brave's mission statement is "with an emphasis on veterans, we povide the housing and services necessray to help homeless individuals return to a productive and meaningful life."  The soup collected by our students is used by their residents.
