A DAY WITH MARY—a FREE Marian Eucharistic Day Retreat. A free one-day retreat offered by the Franciscan friars of Sat., Feb. 20 at Our Lady of the Assumption in Fairfield. The day starts at 8:45 am and includes Sat. daily Mass, Confession for those who wish, Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, Marian Procession, recitation of the Rosary, conferment of the Brown Scapular and the Miraculous Medal, a Fatima video, and preaching by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate. THE 13th ANNUAL 30 HOUR FAMINE will take place on Sat., Feb. 27-Sun. Feb. 28. The 30 Hour Famine is sponsored by World Vision. Every year, upwards of 200 teens from 20 local schools and over 18 faith communities fast for 30 hours and raise money to fight world hunger both globally and locally. This year local teens will join in this fight during which time they fast, pray, serve, play games and raise money. They collect food to stock Norwalk’s Manna House and Open Door shelter. They do service projects around Fairfield County throughout the course of the day. Please join us. We begin at 9 am with a walk from St Jerome Church to St Philip Church in Norwalk; stay together at St. Philip through the night and break our fast at 10 am Mass on Sun.
