VETERAN BRICK DEADLINE for donating a veteran's brick to the St. Margaret Shrine Veterans Memorial, is Fri., Sept. 30. Bricks can be donated honoring a veteran of the U.S. Military, or our Allies—living, deceased, wartime, peacetime, or currently serving. The Veterans Memorial is located at 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. THE MONKS OF NORCIA will be sharing their life and spirituality on Fri., Sept, 30, at 5 pm at the Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Rd., Darien. Cost $100; includes hors d’oeuvres and Birra Nursia (Nursia beer). Norcia has become particularly well known in recent years because of the American Benedictine monks who re-founded the monastery there in 2000. Presenters will include Fr. RAINBOWS, a program for children and teens grieving the loss of a parent or other loved one from death, divorce, or other trauma, will start a new session at Holy Spirit Parish, Stamford, at the end of Sept. Rainbows helps teens and children grieve and grow after loss and develop coping skills for life. The program is confidential and free, and open to all. CELEBRATE AND HELP THE HOMELESS FIND AN APARTMENT OF THEIR OWN—On Oct. 1, Off the Streets will hold its second annual Dinner Dance in Our Lady of the Assumption Church Hall in Fairfield. Off the Streets provides a security deposit and basic furniture and living needs for those homeless people who have no other means of providing these but do have a means of paying the monthly rent. Come celebrate with us and help others have a place of their own this winter. For reservations call Ellen 203.880.9814.
