Bishop will ordain Deacon Class
of 2015

BRIDGEPORT—Bishop Frank J. Caggiano will ordain six men as deacons for the Diocese of Bridgeport on June 13 at 11 am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield.

In preparation for their ordination, the men attended a week-long retreat at Mt. Alvernia Retreat House in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. They began their retreat on Sunday, April 26, and were joined by their wives in the middle of the week.

on Sun., May 24 at 11:30am, St. Andrews Church, 395 Anton St., Bridgeport sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Cabrini Council and Assembly. To honor those who have served our country and who gave the greatest sacrifice for our freedom. There will be the colors of the Armed services and Honor Guard from the Knights of Columbus. A special presentation of awards to those who served during Desert Storm and during the Iraqi conflict. After mass, a brief ceremony held on the churches front green, followed by coffee social in the church lower hall. All welcome to honor those who served our country and thank them for their heroism.

& MASS at Our Lady of Assumption Parish, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield sponsored by The Knight of Columbus, Assumption Council #11077 on Sun., May 24 at 12noon. In attendance: Fairfield town officials, KofC State and local representatives, Conn. State representatives, veterans from American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Vets and National Association of Naval Vets, Port 5.The Fairfield Police Department Honor Guard  & community scouts will participate. A military honors Service will take place after Mass. The Knights proudly sponsor this Service to promote and preserve the true meaning of Memorial Day and invite the townspeople of Fairfield and surrounding towns to participate.
