"Serving others can be an uplifting, establishing force in our lives. It's really paramount to our own happiness," says CBS News anchor and published author, Hannah Storm. "And service should be two-fold: interacting with your fellow man and donating money, when you have the means to do so, to help others."
Storm's husband, NBC Sportscaster Dan Hicks, agrees. "This is too important, and the needs are great," he says. "Don't let yourself off the hook. We all have reasons for not giving, but they're not good enough when people are in need."
Hannah Storm and Dan Hicks have settled into their new role as chair-couple of the 2008 Living Our Faith Annual Bishop's Appeal with energy and enthusiasm. They hope that lending their names and support to this year's campaign will help the diocese reach its $12.3 million goal to fund the essential programs and ministries of the Catholic Church in Fairfield County.

These programs and ministries include Catholic schools, Catholic Charities, vocations, parish religious education programs, and Parish Finance Services.
New Generation
"Dan and Hannah call it the way they see it, and that's the spirit they bring to their role as chair-couple of this year's Appeal," says Bishop William E. Lori. "They represent a new generation of lay people stepping forward to further the good works of the Church. While millions of Americans know them as TV personalities, we know Hannah and Dan as concerned parents and committed parishioners who have chosen to serve others by getting involved. We're very grateful that they have accepted this leadership challenge."
Storm and Hicks were married in 1994 after meeting as sports broadcasters at CNN. They have three children and live in the diocese.
